You’re enrolled in VSP, and with us, you’ll get the personalized eyecare you deserve. We’ll help you see well, stay healthy, and get the most out of life.

Using your VSP benefit is easy

  • Find the right eyecare provider for you-You can choose to see the eyecare provider who’s right for you-a VSP doctor or any other provider. Look for a VSP doctor near you at VSP.com
  • Review your benefit information-Login to review your plan coverage and see if you’re eligible for services before your appointment.
  • At your appointment, tell them you have VSP-There’s no ID card required

That’s it! We’ll handle the rest-there are no claim forms to complete when you see a VSP doctor. If you choose to see a provider other than a VSP doctor, you typically have six months to submit a claim to VSP for reimbursement. Login to vsp.com to see if your plan offers coverage for other providers, and for details on how to submit a claim.

How to Submit a Claim?

When you see a provider other than a VSP doctor you must submit a claim to VSP for reimbursement. You typically have six months from the date of service to submit for reimbursement. Please review your plan information for deadlines and details.

There are two ways to submit a claim to VSP

Your Provider Submits a Claim

You’ll pay your provider any applicable copays and taxes, plus the amount over your allotted coverage. Your provider will submit the CMS 1500 form to VSP. VSP will pay the provider directly for your services and eyewear.

Not all providers will submit a claim to VSP; ask the provider before you receive services.

You Submit a Claim for Reimbursement

You’ll pay the provider in full for the services and eyewear received at the time of your appointment, including taxes. Then you’ll submit your receipt with an itemized list of services and eyewear along with the VSP Member Reimbursement Form to VSP. We’ll reimburse you the allotted amount based on your coverage.

Why Do I Need to Register For a VSP.com Account?

After you register, you can view your vision benefits information, including coverage, eligibility, and copayment amounts. You can also find a VSP doctor near you who participates in your plan. After your appointment, you can go to VSP.com to view your previous VSP doctor visits, services, and savings (when applicable.)
